Rain or Shine, Konkani Rocks, with Lorna and her 7 piece ensemble!

Lorna - Goa's Nitingale all set to Rock Gonsalves Mansion at Campal Panjim on 20th August

Celebrating Goan Essence on 20th of August

The stunning Goan nightingale Lorna will regale audiences at the famed Gonsalves Mansion, on the 20th of August, in celebration of World Goa Day. She will be performing in Panjim after a gap of many years, and is gung ho about bringing the soul of Konkani to the people who have taste, who love jazz, who love the great life and who are living life to the fullest.

Since she will be performing at a stage that is famed across the music world, she comes with her 7 piece ensemble made up of trumpet, trombone, saxophone, keyboards, lead guitar, bass guitar and drums, thus making up for exciting stuff.

She will belt out music that only she is known for, the woman who has driven people crazy across the Goan music world.

Various other artistes from across the Goan music firmament will be present to make up one of the most glittering nights in Konkani music. Who can forget the stunning Konkani Rocks programme held at Goa Velha last year? (check http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=142432&id=576671696&l=c641d89f25) The show of the 20th of this month is a sequel to it, something that will keep you pulsated to the sounds of Goanness.

And, as the very name suggests, Konkani Rocks whether it rains or not, and if it does which we hope so, we have umbrellas in the tri colour that will be given as protection for all of you. Of course, the area will be covered for rain protection too, so, let's have fun, let us sing and dance in the rain in the true Spirit of Goa!

Several food stalls of sumptuous culinary Traditional Homemade Goan delights will be set up too all in the Home of Jazz! Whenever you try and find good Goan food today, it is virtually impossible to get that anywhere. So, we celebrate the uniqueness of Goan cuisine from women who have made us proud with their culinary excellence!
• Dona Aduzinda’Gonsalves – Her Fantastic Prawn Curry Rice!
• Mrs. D’souza- Her Delicious Pork Roast Vindaloo!
• Mrs. Rosario from Goa Velha- Her Lovely Beef Roast Preparation
• Mrs. Cecilia Estrocio- Her Delicious Prawn Rissious and Goan Sausage Pies, Beef Patties
• Mrs. Linda D’Souza ( Viva Panjim)- Her Mouth watering Chicken Cafreal
• Mrs. Milagrine D’Costa- Her perfectly spiced and flavoured Sorpotel and Sannas!

This is a unique event which is being organized at the grass roots of Goa- capturing the very essence of Goanness. The Traditional old fashioned style of Goan entertainment by the balcony and veranda will be seen.

For the first time we have Tiatr in the form of "Tthikaan" coming to the City on World Goa Day, to charm the upper middle class society and to draw them into loving their mother tongue Konkani- a truly revolutionary idea!! Details of the tiatr will be up shortly, so, keep looking for details.
